Lake Trout Fishing on Lac Nilgaut closes on October 10, 2011
Lac Nilgaut is blessed with a prolific lake trout fishery, known as a numbers lake, it produces many lake trout in the 1 - 4 pound range with fish over 20 pounds caught annually. The main forage base of the tout in Lac Nilgaut is fresh water shrimp, giving the fish a nice pink colour and a light and flaky meat. Fish can be caught with many techniques and presentations all season long. |

The Northern Pike or "waterwolf", as our son refers to them, cruise throughout the entire lake. 5 to 10 pound Northerns are very common with trophy fish caught annually from 40" - 48" in the 30 pound range. |
